SaxSchoolOnline is an online learning platform for saxophone players of all levels, created and managed by Nigel McGill, an experienced saxophonist with decades of professional experience in the music industry. Nigel has performed in big bands, orchestras, TV sessions, and festivals, and has also worked as a musical director.

At SaxSchoolOnline, Nigel and his team of experienced instructors offer comprehensive saxophone lessons, covering all styles of music, from jazz to blues, rock and roll to classical. They cater to beginners, intermediate, and advanced players, helping each student achieve their playing goals, whether it be learning the basics, honing their skills, or advancing to new levels.

The Challenge

The hero banner features a pair of photos arranged side by side, accompanied by copy that is difficult to read due to competition with the photos. The headline boldly claims the training to be the best, yet no evidence is presented to support this assertion.

The website lacks social proof, testimonials, clarity, and compelling reasons to consider the training as a legitimate option.

Despite having approximately 9,000 students and millions of YouTube views, the website fails to reflect the authority of the individual behind it. Although the business is thriving with a great offer, the website design has not been updated, and the owner takes pride in having created and built it himself.

Our Action Plan

With our redesign, the client was hesitant at first due to the total price of the investment for the new website, when he added up the design, the copywriting, the photos, the videos, and the website build on WordPress.

To his credit, he decided to go all in, and he is extremely happy with the boost it has given to his business.

We completely overhauled the design and gave it more of an up-market feel compared to his previous design. We used a royal blue and gold color palette with a layout that’s modern and has a great visual hierarchy to draw attention to the copy and the CTAs. 

The hero section now includes impact metrics, such as the number of students helped and social media followers, to instantly convey their authority. Additionally, a free 14-day trial with a 90-day money-back guarantee if they do join. this reduces the risk and dramatically boosted their conversions.

Our copywriting partners have used the SPIN selling method, with a focus on solving the audience’s challenges with playing the sax, and it positions the business as a guide to helping people.
